Jonatan Contero was born in Valencia, Spain, 40 years ago. He is married to Abigail, who shares his dedication to mission. He has studied in Spain, France, and England, and his main focus is sharing faith in a secular, contemporary environment. He works for the Centre for Secular and Post-Christian Mission (CSPM) for Global Mission of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.

As the associate director for the CSPM, he co-organised the latest EUD training for church planters, in Portugal (https://news.eud.adventist.org/en/all-news/news/go/2024-04-24/we-need-to-create-a-culture-of-making-disciples-and-planting-churches/).

EUD News interviewed Jonatan on the CSPM goals, the mission context and developments in Europe, and the main trends of post-secular and post-christianity. And, of course, his coming challenge as a General Conference missionary to the cosmopolitan, culturally diverse city of Geneva, in Switzerland, celebrating the 150th anniversary of the arrival of the first official Adventist missionary in Europe.
