Chișinău, Moldova [Darya Plahotnick, Communication Director of the Moldovan Union; Jeremiah Weeks, Associate Director 'ShareHim'; CD EUDNews;]. In the Republic of Moldova, February first will go down in history as a start of an unprecedented project for Euro-Asia Division: “Share Him”. Nine preachers – students from the Adventist Theological Institute of Cernica led by chaplain and pastor Benjamin Stan, arrived on the right banks of the Prut river to give hope to Moldova.
Ten Moldavian villages welcomed the preachers but with abnormal temperatures. Nevertheless, God took care of the weather letting those ten preachers get to their churches during the 16 evenings (it is interesting to note that immediately after the end of the Share Him program, temperatures sharply dropped, and the winter returned as usual).
The key word of the program was “Hope”. That word rang out each evening in the ten Moldavian communities. Dave Dobias, “Share Him” program coordinator, was instructing the preachers daily and visiting each of the ten communities. He even learned the word “hope” in Romanian.
More than a hundred visitors came evening after evening and began to understand the secrets hidden in the Word of God. At the end of the program, about 50 people decided to proceed with Bible study and soon to enter into a covenant relationship with the Lord.
The last day that the Romanian preachers stayed in Moldova was especially joyful. On the 17th of February in the community of Ivanovca Noua, where chaplain Benjamin Stan stayed, there was a ceremony of water baptism, 5 people sworn solemnly to follow Christ.
However, besides the meetings, new acquaintances were made, people acquired for Christ, the “Share Him” program started the new ensemble “Fluieras” in the Bozieni village. After two weeks of music studies, the newly made musicians – all of different ages – took a firm decision to go on with music only.
Sixteen evenings flew by in a flash, however the impact on the participants and visitors will be lasting.
“It's the first time I have taken part in such a project – I didn’t know what would be the outcome, but after these two weeks I have completely changed my vision, it has been a spiritual enrichment for me. During these two weeks I have become closer to God” said Alin, “Share Him” program participant and student of TAI Cernica.
“I couldn't have even imagined the results from this program in Moldova. First of all, we did not know how to conduct the program. A decision was taken to distribute the preachers among the communities near Chisinau. It was an unusual program, and that is why we hope that such project will be repeated in the future involving large numbers of participants. That was a very successful project and became an encouragement to both
