On 30 June, at the AAIS Onlus (a non-profit association), an inauguration ceremony was held for the wheelchair platform fitted on the minibus that is used to transport disabled children attending the centre.

Donatella Scalzi, the centre's coordinator, did the honours, presenting the association's activities and mission to the guests. Also present was a delegation from the Seventh-day Adventist Christian Church, which, thanks to funds from the national Church Tax (8xmille), financed the special equipment that will also allow wheelchair users to be transported.

The president of the Adventist Church in Italy, Andrei Cretu, thanked the leaders and staff for the commendable work that is being carried out with great commitment. He added that the Adventist Church will continue to cooperate with the centre because it has always been attentive to the welfare of the weakest.

The event was also attended by Riccardo Roncoloni, councillor of the municipality of Manziana, who brought greetings from the mayor and confirmed the willingness of the institutions to continue supporting the activities carried out by the centre.

The AAIS Onlus presented its objectives and efforts for the future to the attendees. The efforts focus on activities concerning assistance in favour of severely disabled persons without family support.

More about the 8xmille Church Tax

The 8xmille tax is the portion of income tax subject to IRPEF, which the Italian State distributes, on the basis of the choices made in tax returns, between itself and the religious denominations - currently twelve - that have entered into an agreement, including the Adventist Church. It was introduced by Article 47 of Law No.222 on 20 May 1985.

By using 8xmille funds together with the Adventist Church, you support projects in the country that support and protect the wellbeing of the individual.
