In 1987, Pastor Lischek (left) founded ADRA Germany in Darmstadt, starting with only a part-time secretary. At present, ADRA has a permanent staff of 28 people and ten volunteers in the office of Weiterstadt, close to Darmstadt. The charity also offers an apprenticeship in office communication.
Günther Machel, Chairman of the ADRA board, thanked Erich Lischek, "From a modest beginning Adra has become a major company. Lischek has shaped ADRA Germany and he will continue to cooperate
as managing director of the ADRA Foundation”.
Christian Molke (right) is the new ADRA director, starting January 2013. He has previously headed the Adventist Church in the regions of Hessen, Rheinland-Pfalz and Saarland, with 65 communities, 4,600 baptized Adventists members and 34 pastors. Since mid-2012, he has been training for his new office.
ADRA Germany is part of the global network of ADRA International, connecting 120 countries and offices. It is one of the ten largest global relief agencies.
