The WECARE campaign conducted by the Health Ministries Department of the Inter-European Division of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church is aimed at raising our awareness for the suffering around us.
Quarantines, travel bans, infections with Covid-19, visit restrictions in hospitals, nursing homes and prisons, lockdowns, physical distancing, home office, online learning... have led to an increase in the proportion of people who have felt lonely most or all of the time these last months. Isolation and loneliness increase the risks for anxiety, depression or suicide attempts among all age groups and are often connected with poorer sleep and weakened immune function.
