The Health Department of our Inter-European Division is organising the 2nd edition of the training event entitled: "The training. Modern medicine and Adventism".

It will take place at the "VitaSalus Lifestyle Center" in Penela, Portugal. The dates are from July 23 to August 5, 2023. The course is taught in English. It is a training meeting designed especially for medical students (at the stage of clinical training), newly graduated doctors and residents. The main theme is the relevance of the Adventist health message in the different medical specialties: gastroenterology, cardiology, endocrinology, paediatrics, obstetrics, and gynaecology.

Experienced Adventist health professionals from around the world will explore and teach about the impact the Adventist health message has on different areas of medicine, both from a preventive and therapeutic perspective. They will link the Adventist health message with evidence-based medicine.

Relevant training

This training is relevant for Adventist medical students in their clinical practice years, as well as newly graduated doctors and residents. It complements, in a necessary way, the knowledge acquired during the career or specialty by focusing on the mission of sharing the Gospel.

In addition, as an international event, it will allow attendees to have a global view of Adventism, as well as the enriching experience of meeting colleagues and medical professionals from other parts of the world.
