Some department directors and administrators of the Spanish Adventist Union (UAE) met on Wednesday, September 21, in Lisbon, with the leaders and some departmental representatives of the Portuguese Union of Seventh-day Adventists (UPASD). In this meeting, strategies for work on the Iberian Peninsula were defined, jointly, in different areas of these two Unions.
Attendees from Spain included the UAE president, Óscar López; the general secretary, Josué Reta; the ministerial secretary, Richard Ruszuly; the treasurer, Marc Gelabert; and the departmental leader of Personal Ministry, Evangelism, Sabbath School and Global Mission, Pastor Gabriel Díaz.
Attendees on behalf of publishing house, Safeliz, were its president, Mario Martinelli, and its administrator, Sergio Mato.
Receiving the Spanish Adventist Union (UAE), in Portugal, were the head of publications, Antonio Carvalho, and representatives of the Portuguese Union, including: the president, José Lagoa; the secretary, Julio Caros Santos; the treasurer, Daniel Simoi; and the ministerial secretary, Paulo Neves.
"The objectives of this meeting were to exchange ideas, projects, [and] administrative processes; get to know each other; pray together; and plan a joint pastoral convention in 2024,” said Pastor Oscar Lopez, president of the Spanish Union.
“In short, to be able to develop the work on the peninsula together, in a more effective and brotherly way between both Unions,” continued Lopez.
“We pray that the Lord will continue to direct the work of both Unions, and train and bless their membership," concluded Lopez.
“Let us pray for our joint cooperation and for our brethren of the Spanish Union, that the Lord will bless and help them in the fulfillment of the Mission,” stated Pastor José Lagoa, president of the Portuguese Union.
And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come’ (Matthew 24: 14).
