The Seventh-day Adventist Church has been on the news in Catalonia, Spain in the last weeks due to two important milestones, according to the Generalitat de Catalunya, the regional government who has dedicated a space in their corporative website informing the local population about the progress of the denomination in this region.
The first milestone has been the translation of the Sabbath School quarterly into Catalan for the first time ever, since January 2015. The Bible Study Guide or Sabbath School quarterly wasn’t translated systematically to Catalan, one of the 6 co-official languages in Spain, until now. Joan Rosique, a church member from Guinardó Adventist Church in Barcelona is the responsible for the translations. Despite there are several Sabbath School Apps for different smartphones, none of them has been offering the Catalan version, but now is available for free at www.recursosbiblics.com. where you may find the already in course second quarterly booklet and many other resources translated into this co-oficial language of Spain.
The second milestone was the mention of the 6th Seventh-day Adventist Congress in Catalonia by the regional government and authorities, praised by the Generalitat de Catalunya as “an opportunity of sharing the Bible and life of Jesus among Catalonians” under the title “Chirst, here and now!”, featuring the main guest to the event, Dr. Ricardo Norton, from Andrews University.
