Last night a program ‘for the elimination of violence against women and children’ took place in the Waldensian church of Palermo, Italy. A large crowd of people filled the church.

An annual meeting organized by ADRA Palermo. A commitment that the Seventh-Day Adventist church has taken with other churches and communities in Palermo to form a common front against a shameful phenomenon that sees mostly young girls experiencing painful events that will impress them for their entire life.

How can a young girl develop a positive feeling of affection if she was precluded from developing a balanced emotional empathy, due to painful experiences in which she had been involved?

Thus, this ADRA campaign is not just limited to denounce the phenomenon of violence against women, but also against young children.

These events are promoted to raise public awareness of an issue that strangely does not stop in spite of the spread of information and prevention, that should stop those who perpetrate such criminal acts.

ADRA Palermo seeks to promote a combined action between associations and institutions to prevent and stop violence against women and children.
