Almost 80 administrators from Adventist Unions and Conferences of the Inter-European Administrative Division met in Friedensau, Germany, at the Adventist International University from August 28 to September 1st.
This leadership training has allowed speakers to develop topics on administrative functions of the President, Secretary and Treasurer.
Several professors from Andrews University in the United States included Stan Patterson and Erich Baumgartner. Those present from the General Conference were Lowell C. Cooper, Arthur Stele, David Trim, Claude Richli, Willie and Elaine Oliver, as well as Karnik Doukmetzian, lawyer and former advisor General and Director of Judicial Affairs. All contributed to the awareness, development and training of the European Adventist administrators.
Graham Barham, Risk Management Insurance manager for Europe and Africa, and Thomas Gyuroka, pastor of Austria also contributed to the training.
This intensive training also gave administrators opportunity to attend workshops in various roles.
Teamwork was encouraged between the Union administrators and the local districts, also strengthened the awareness and efficiency of the administration within Adventist institutions.
The French-Belgian Union was represented by the three administrators (Ruben de Abreu, Jean-Paul Barquon and Pierre-Jean Tizio), two administrators from the Southern District of France (Daniel Monachini and Philippe Aurouze), Jean-Jack Chafograck, Olivier Maireet and Jarvis Doom of the Northern District, and finally representing the Belgian-Luxemburg District was president Jeroen Tuinstra.
