Even though it is open every day, the facility at Friedensau extends its welcome to everyone on this special day. Friedensau is a state-approved university, with two educational programs, Christian Social Work and Theology with students coming from over 30 different countries.

Specially-designed lectures and interesting topics for both adults and the popular Kinder-Uni will give an insight into the everyday life of the university.

For people that enjoy exercise, there will be 'nature walks for a purpose'. Courses will be offered on rope-climbing for all ages and the possibility of viewing the Ökohaus and camp sights with a guided tour of the town, the university library, a large playground and activities for children. This will give an idea and an overview of the facilities.

In the village square a red maple tree will be dedicated to Luther in the presence of dignitaries.

There will also be musical performances, an organ concert with Ethan McGrath (USA) in the chapel, 'Friedensau in Concert' live on stage as well as a gospel concert in the evening in the Culture Barn. The highlight of the day will include the novelist, Titus Müller and his readings in the university library.

Friedensau retirement home will also open its facilities to the public. It has been well accepted and recognized for giving care and assistance to people in need. Activities are planned for the whole day even the Sax'n-Anhalt Orchestra will perform.

Delicious snacks and refreshments will also be available. Speaking of food: students from all over the world will offer culinary and cultural specialties from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with an international flair at the university campus. In the “Old Fire House” coffee shop, there will be delicious pastries earlier in the day and hot dogs in late afternoon. Friedensau Kita will show interested parents and children the facilities and provide information on the approach of 'education from the very beginning'.

Admission to the open house is free. We hope for sunshine but everyone is welcome even in the rain!
