Parents of the English-speaking local Seventh-day Adventist Church in Geneva founded the Adventist International School AIS, a private bilingual school. It is designed as a day school in which French and English are spoken.

The two teachers instruct eight children aged four to eight, whose parents visit the English or Portuguese-speaking Adventist congregation in Geneva. The day school has also received final approval from the authorities after temporary consent and is renting from the Protestant church in Petit-Saconnex, just under two kilometers from the train station. According to the Adventist Communication Department in French-speaking Switzerland (FSRT), school costs are covered by income-dependent fees from parents and by contributions from members of the local English-speaking community.

“The lessons are planned according to the current curriculum of French-speaking and Ticino part of Switzerland (Plan d’études Romand), they also contain biblical elements”, said Sabina Cabungcal, principal of the bilingual school. Across the school there is a park, which is very important, as the children are often outside.
