Following to the election of Mario Brito as EUD President, delegates elected Barna Magyarosi as Executive Secretary
and re-elected Norbert Zens as Treasurer.
Here a short biography of the new Secretary, Barna Magyarosi:
Barna was born in November 13, 1973 in Târgu-Mures, Romania. He got a B.A. at the Adventist Theological Institute, Bucharest, Romania; Licentiate in Theology, University of Babes-Bolyai, Cluj-Napoca, Romania; M.A. in Religion, Andrews University and ThD (Doctor of Theology), University of Bucharest, Romania.
Barna's professional experience started in 1996 as pastor in the South Transylvania Conference, Romania. Afterwards he was appointed as Guest lecturer at the Adventist Theological Institute, Romania.
In 2001 he was elected as Sabbath School Department Director at the South-Transylvania Conference, Romania. In 2003 he was elected as Assistant lecturer at the Adventist Theological Institute, Cernica. In 2005 he became the Lecturer teaching Literature of the Old Testament. In 2005 he was appointed also President of the same Institute. In 2010, at the General Conference Session of Atlanta, Barna was appointed Education and Family Ministries Director at the Inter-European Division (EUD).
In this charge, Barna is also Chair of the Biblical Research Committee of the EUD.
Barna Magyarosi is married with Noémi-Laura and together they have a daughter, Blanka, born in July 19, 2000.
The relected Treasurer, Norbert Zens:
Norbert Zens was born in 1966 in Germany. After the secondary education, he graduated in Business Administration at the University of Passau in Germany. Norbert Zens worked for several companies in Germany as Consultant in various projects (public sector and private companies), Project engineer, Management of the logistics of a just–in–time production plant.
Before to be elected as EUD Treasurer in Atlanta, at the General Conference Session in 2010, he served for nine years as Business Manager of the Adventist Bogenhofen Seminary in Austria. In 2004, the General Conference GCAS Auditing Service employed him until 2010 as Associate Director of the Euro-Africa Area, now Inter-European Area.
Norbert Zens is married to Christina Zens since 1993.
