The two Austrian Adventist media companies, TOP LIFE Wegweiser-Verlag (Vienna) and Adventist Book Center (Bogenhofen), recently merged under the name ABC Medien.
TOP LIFE Wegweiser Verlag bought the Adventist Book Center (ABC) as early as 2023. Taking a further step, the two companies have now been merged.
History of the two companies
TOP LIFE Wegweiser Verlag, the publishing house of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Austria, was founded in 1948 under the name Wegweiser-Verlag. From the beginning, its focus was on publishing Christian or Adventist literature and magazines that dealt with topics such as faith, health, and lifestyle.
In 2006, the publishing house was renamed TOP LIFE Wegweiser-Verlag and various products, such as a series of publications on the topic of health and magazines, were offered under the “Top Life Center” brand.
The Adventist Book Center (ABC), which focused particularly on sales via the Internet, was founded in 2007 as a private initiative by two theology students and a lecturer at the Adventist Theological Seminary Schloss Bogenhofen. The Adventist Book Center developed into a popular point of contact for Christian literature among Adventists in Austria, especially thanks to the online shop.
The two media companies have been working together successfully for years and have, therefore, decided to join forces through a merger and to use synergies.
Both brands will be retained
Both the “TOP LIFE” and the “Adventist Book Center” brands will be retained. TOP LIFE bundles content and offers that focus on education, health, and lifestyle. The “Adventist Book Center” brand is aimed at the Adventist market within the church in Austria, and focuses on spiritual and religious literature and materials. The sponsor of these two brands is the newly founded ABC Medien GmbH. According to its own statement, it wants to build on proven values and also be open to innovative ideas.
