The humanitarian donation of over 12 tons of products in the Odessa region, within the project "Hope for Ukraine" , implemented by the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) in Romania, has been accomplished in 24 hours.
This initiative was done following consultation, solicitation, and acceptance of humanitarian donations by Kyiv-based ADRA Ukraine and the Mykolaiv-based Southern Conference, in Ukraine.
Tens of thousands of donated items - hygiene products, food, clothing, detergent, baby hygiene products, first aid supplies, medicines, food supplements, medical supplies - with a value of over 23,000 euros, were transported in 8 vans with the help of 12 volunteers. The products arrived in Ukraine, at Ismail, where they were distributed to Ukrainian refugees housed both in the centers in the Odessa region and in other areas of Ukraine.
"In the context of the war, the humanitarian aid received is of great help to those in need in the Odessa area,” commented Dumitri Popravkin, president of the Southern Ukranian Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
The Coordinating Council, the Organizing Council, and the Emergency Council, which also include the leaders of the Southern Ukrainian SDA Conference, expressed their gratitude for the humanitarian aid organized by ADRA Romania in the Odessa region.
“All the humanitarian donations of ADRA Romania will be used for the support of the refugees and those who suffered because of war actions. The goods received will not be traded, they will not be income-generating, they will be used entirely by Ukrainian refugees," concluded Popravkin.
Hope for Ukraine
ADRA Romania's first humanitarian initiative, "Hope for Ukraine", held in the Odessa region, enjoyed the presence and support of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the Muntenia and Dobrogea region, the Life and Health Publishing House, Allgäu Medical Service GmbH, and the Shell-Gui Brand Center.
The humanitarian assistance for refugees, provided by ADRA Romania volunteers, continues both at the border points with Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova, as well as at the North Railway Station in Bucharest and other stations in the country.
