In the 38th week of implementation of the project "Humanitarian Support COVID-19", the ADRA team reached 797 people of which: 380 are adults fighting to ensure decent living conditions; 217 are single elderly people with acute subsistence needs; and 200 are children from disadvantaged backgrounds, but who have exceptional academic results.
Therefore, in the week of 22 – 28 November alone, the ADRA project “Humanitarian Support COVID-19” engaged the specialized services adapted to the specific needs generated or accentuated by the COVID-19 context for 797 beneficiaries, as follows: 646 people received basic food for a decent living and to be able to get through these days of crisis more easily, of which 77 received a hot meal at home, every day; 120 people benefited from social assistance and psychological counseling for the crisis; and 31 people received help through shelter provided.
“Towards the end of the year, we are noticing a slight improvement in the general situation generated by the COVID-19 crisis, which we can only rejoice about, considering the devastations caused by this virus on all levels,” shared Bogdan Stănică, Project Manager ADRA Romania. “Encouraging is the number of daily infections that decrease slightly from day by day. We hope that this decrease is because of people's awareness of the protection measures that need to be taken. The ADRA team looks forward to the New Year and maintains the same spirit of involvement and support for those in difficulty. We can only hope for the best in the New Year,” concluded Stănică.
“In my daily activity, I notice how ADRA Romania, through the project ‘Humanitarian Support COVID-19’, reaches, every week, the victims collaterally affected by the pandemic, who lose their hope for tomorrow,” said Delia Fărâmiță, Assistant Manager of Emergency Situations / Head of Marketing and Communication for ADRA Romania. “Although we are going through difficult times, our unseen partner makes His presence felt through the blessings poured out on us, so that, from what we have, we can give to others as well,” reflected Fărâmiță.
